Rahman won two Oscar awards in 2009 for his compositions in Slumdog Millionarie. Although Rahman was not nominated for an Oscar this year, he was tweeted number one internationally as he delighted fans with his surprise appearance!!
The word ‘Sangamam’ is Tamil word meaning ‘Meeting’ and Rahman is looking to convey this special message to the world. Rahman’s mission is simple – to bridge a gap between eastern and western music traditions. His illustrous career is a living proof of his legacy as he takes his fans into new innovative musical soundscapes allowing them to explore new dimensions of this gap.
