One can not easily define the word ‘beauty’, yet it is a sentiment that is clearly recognizable deep within our own souls when we are in an atmosphere of art. It is clearly something that transcends any definition of language, culture or ethnicity. The coaxing of the hindustani classical raga Darbari is one such musical structure that instills a deeper sense of beauty when conducted properly and in the correct setting.
This video, warms my heart! Here you have no other than Sonu Nigam performing ‘Sukh Ke Sab Saathi Dukh Mein Na Koi‘ a heart felt devotional song composed in the Bollywood movie ‘Gopi’ back in 1970. He is performing for a auspicious occasion – to celebrate Satya SaiBaba!!

MUMBAI: Playback singer Sonu Nigam is one of the privileged people to perform in front of Satya Saibaba about 15 months ago. Sonu told Times of India ,” I am amongst the lucky few who got a chance to perform in front of him that too just 15 months back. My son and wife were lucky to be blessed personally by him I touched him look in his eyes that looked at me through eternity. It was overwhelming. He will watch over the world from wherever he is now.”
The singer does not want to be part of any cult he justifies, “I am not the kind who desires to be part of the cult because that becomes religion and I am interested in the spirit and not the carrier. I am not interested in the element and not the chemical formula. I believe in the soul that Baba the human carried. I believe in the message that he spread. I believe in enormous work of social and spiritual healing that he and his organization accomplished. I believe in the tremendous feeling of oneness that his followers experienced when they would come from far off places and countries together in search of love and healing.”
He said on facebook:
Don’t mourn Sathya Sai Baba’s demise. Celebrate his life. Happy Easter friends. God bless everyone’s parents and children…
This beautiful song originally sang by the legendary singer Mohammad Rafi is composed in Raga Darbari. It’s meaning evokes a strong sense of devotion. To better appreciate the song here are the lyrics and it’s translation:
