Aamir Khan has been featured on the cover of the Asia edition of TIME magazine.

Speaking about his personal endeavour to raise awareness of key issues in Indian society, Khan said: “The solution has to start with me, with every individual. After all, if these terrible things are happening in my society, then I have a share of the blame, because I’ve done nothing to stop them.

“A solution can only begin to appear once I accept it’s partly my fault, and then you accept that it’s partly your fault, and a third person and a fourth person.”

The close-up image of Khan bears the title ‘Khan’s Quest’, while a tagline reads: “He’s breaking the Bollywood mould by tackling India’s social evils. Can one actor change a nation?”

Other Indians who have graced the cover include Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sachin Tendulkar, Sania Mirza, businessman Narendra Modi and Mahatma Gandhi, who was featured on the cover three times.

Satyamev Jayate has addressed issues of female foeticide, education and caste.

An episode focusing on incidences of child sexual abuse resulted in the passing of a child protection bill by the Indian Parliament to prevent the sexual exploitation of children.

The 3 Idiots star has been widely praised for his work on the TV show and his commitment to raising awareness of social causes in India.
