Song Unsung

6 months, 151 days, 4 hours and 7 minutes and still this Prem Pravasi blog has remained unpublished. There is an internal battle waging within me seeking to fully grasp all the technicalities about presenting this blog to you against an overwhelming desire to share all of this incredible content, my dear Indian Cultural Enthusiasts!! And to weaken this veil of fear, I’ve decided to dedicate this moving poem by the great Bengali poet, Rabindranath Tagore who won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work entitled ‘Gitanjali’ in 1912.
Song Unsung ;
The song that I came to sing remains unsung to this day.
I have spent my days in stringing and in unstringing my instrument.
The time has not come true, the words have not been rightly set;
only there is the agony of wishing in my heart.
The blossom has not opened; only the wind is sighing by.
I have not seen his face, nor have I listened to his voice;
only I have heard his gentle footsteps from the road before my house.
The livelong day has passed in spreading his seat on the floor;
but the lamp has not been lit and I cannot ask him into my house.
I live in the hope of meeting with him; but this meeting is not yet.
To all of you seeking to do something tomorrow, find the strength and persistence to do it today!
